3. Insulating glass is made using two or more pieces of glass separated by metal or foam spacers. The glass unit is hermetically sealed, in some instances with a gas such as argon or krypton inside, to limit heat transfer into or out of an interior space. Insulating glass units can be configured using various glass types for multifunctionality—including, but not limited to energy-efficiency, hurricane impact, sound control and decorative.
